Welcome to Glossy Box

I know I'm a bit late on this, but I finally caved and signed up for a beauty subscription box! I did my research, talked to a few friends and checked out the websites, after which I came to the conclusion I'd try out Glossy Box.

At just £10 a month it claims you will receive a collection of the newest and most exciting miniatures on the market, sounds good right? I probably waste more than that per week on things I don't need/or even want sometimes...

So let's see how it goes...

I just received my first box and I was amazed at the beautiful packaging it was in (I know, I'm a sucker for looks) - a glossy pale pink box with the contents wrapped up in tissue tied with a silky branded ribbon. It's like Christmas all over again.

I skipped the contents card and dived straight in to see what goodies laid inside:

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream (RRP £19.50 for 70g) - This isn't a brand I know a lot about, but the blurb says that this is a cult cream from Japan that is revamping and enriching for the skin. After the season to be jolly (or more accurately, tipsy) my skin definitely needs some of this... Not sure how it'll work against the bane that is my oily skin, but I'll at least give it a go!

Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash (RRP £10.50 for 250ml) - I always squealed when I saw this inside! I got a free bottle of this last summer and I absolutely loved how it felt on my skin. 99% of the ingredients have natural origin which makes me think that it's doing good! Plus it's the perfect size bottle for the few weekends away that I've already planned for this year, result!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Floral Slanted Tweezers (RRP £8.00) - Bearing in mind I've never bought tweezers that cost more than a quid, these are probably just what I need. These retail for £8 which is almost the cost of the entire Glossy Box, so that kinda means the other bits were almost free (you get my logic, right?) The design on these is über-cute and they'll fit in nicely with my vintage inspired make-up brush holder, which is always a bonus to me.

Anatomicals Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake-Up Patches (RRP £6.00 for 3) - I've heard quite a bit about these recently and I have to admit to being a bit curious... These are eye patches that you use to cool and soothe any puffiness around your eyes, and battle those hefty bags the morning after the night before. A posh version of the cold tea bag, so to speak. These will be perfect for the post-party season detox, so I'm sure I'll be getting these bad boys out on my next pamper evening.

Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotion (RRP £4.99) - Now this is the one product that I wasn't so thrilled about, as I don't consider this to be either new or exciting. I also have a serious stash of body lotion that I'm currently battling my way through, so I hardly need another addition to the clan. However I do like this range, and I've recently become hooked on the Spray & Go version of this, so I'm bound to enjoy this little number too!

All in all my first impressions on Glossy Box are a tad mixed, but on the whole I'm pretty happy with the bits that have been sent my way. I guess only time will tell on what Glossy Box have to offer...
