January Favourites

So it’s come to the end of the first month of 2014. I don’t mean to jump on the bandwagon here, but seriously where has this month gone?

Any who, let’s not divert from the important topic here – here’s the round up of all things beauty that I’ve been giving some serious lovin’ to this month…

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover (RRP £4.99) - This little wonder product has quite literally saved the day recently. I don’t know what’s been wrong with me but every time I paint my nails I manage to smudge or chip at least one almost instantly (patience is a virtue, so they say). This pot has a sponge inside it which is soaked with conditioning nail polish remover – just stick your finger in (no pun intended), twist it round for about 5-10 seconds and voila, nail polish is finito! Thanks Essie Button for raving about this, or I never would’ve found such an essential little gem!

O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in Midnight In Moscow (RRP £11.50 - This gorgeous deep colour is actually an old friend of mine, and happens to be my only O.P.I. repurchase (so far…) I’m a real lover of the deep, smouldering colours – particularly in winter – and I find that this one is just perfect. It’s a dark purple/plum with a hint of shimmer running through it, which has just the right mix of warm and cool tones to be flattering on all skin tones. This hasn’t left my fingers or toes in weeks and it’s bound to stick around for a while to come.

Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream (RRP £2.10) - I’ve managed to rack up a collection of all three flavours from this little Nivea range, but the Caramel Cream scent is definitely the stand out for me. The product itself is a very thick, creamy consistency which has sorted my chapped lips out with ease. It does have a teeny white tinge to it when you first put it on, but that soon disappears. As it doesn’t contain petroleum or any menthol ingredients it’s really nourishing, and works as a great base for all lip products. Just a good all round winter essential if you ask me, and there’s always a deal on them somewhere!

Champneys Spa Treatments Hand And Nail Cream (RRP £6.00) - I’m not usually one to go for fancy or expensive hand creams, or hand creams at all if I’m completely honest (I know, I know, lazy right?), but this one is something a bit special. My lovely mum bought me this as one of many gorgeous Champneys products for Christmas, and I tell you what I don’t half love her for it! This has a really light texture and has a very subtle fragrance, so it’s not over powering or obnoxious at all. I tend to use this just before bed and it leaves my skin silky smooth and almost glowing. It’s even on sale at half price at the moment – why not go grab yourself a bargain?

BD Barbara Daly Make-Up Concealer in Medium (RRP £5.00) - I’m not usually a big fan of the BD Barbara Daly range, but this product hasn’t left my side for the past few months! A combination of the bad weather and a poor festive diet left my skin blotchy and even more prone to breakouts – lovely! This concealer is just creamy enough that it can be blended out for coverage on a large scale, but it’s also thick enough that it can be used with a small brush or finger-tip to spot conceal, all for a fiver!

Origins Super Spot Remover (RRP £14.00) - This is now known by the blogging world as the number 1 spot treatment out there, and it’s easy to see why! Don’t get me wrong this won’t clear an entire breakout overnight, but it sure as hell will give it a kick in the right direction. I use a blob of this on any blemishes I have – at night only (as it’s a bit too intense for during the day too) – and let it do it’s magic while I sleep. In the morning I find the blemishes have healed greatly and reduced in both size and redness. A few nights using this and they’re pretty much gone, magical!

That’s it from me this month folks. What bits have you been hooked on this month?
